The problem
Nature is under pressure. climate change, biodiversity loss. Children, youth and their educators must be equipped with the right knowledge, skills and agency they need to take meaningful action, and be part of resilient communities and sustainable society. Children are growing up with fewer opportunities to connect with nature.

The solution
Living Planet @ School empowers schools to take meaningful action through hand-on activities.
Schools work together with WWF to
•
Actions taken by the youth are relevant and solutions-oriented to address environmental issues like habitat loss and biodiversity loss
•
Create more schoolyard habitat to strengthen biodiversity/ Schools are creating Living Corners (through native planting that creates habitat), and such outdoor spaces are dynamic, where the students relationship with the space is not one-time, it’s ongoing.
•
Contribute species observation data to help inform species protection decisions,
•
And these habitats can be created at other schools through the simple act of seed sharing (one habitat garden becomes many)
•
Help schools overcome barriers to participation through grants
The Recognition
Schools completing at least one of these important activities – solutions - is celebrated as A WWF Living Planet School
Inspires student leadership and environmental stewardship, well-being, develop skills, build resilience and confidence to respond to environmental challenges.
